Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police arrested a Waltham, MN man for allegedly brandishing a handgun during an argument Wednesday night.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 900 block of Village Circle Southeast for a disturbance call shortly before 11 p.m. At the apartment, officers learned an altercation and argument broke out between the daughter of the apartment's owner and the tenant.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen said the argument involved a male friend of the tenant's who was at the apartment during the incident. The owner’s daughter called her brother to the apartment and another argument ensued when he arrived. That’s when the friend of the tenant, identified as 26-year-old Umon Moore, allegedly brandished a handgun.
The brother and sister claim Moore pointed the gun at them. The tenant said Moore brandished the gun but did not point it at anyone. Moilanen says officers identified Moore and arrested him during a traffic stop on Hwy. 56 near Hayfield around 8:15 Thursday morning.
Moore had a handgun in his waistband at the time of the arrest, Moilanen said. Moore was arrested and jailed on suspicion of second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Moilanen says there could be additional charges relating to the gun.
