Is This the Last Time Minnesota Changes Its Clocks?
Okay, but WHAT IF we didn’t have to change our clocks anymore? Is anybody else holding on tightly for that dream to become a reality??
No more losing an hour (and our minds) in the spring. No more gaining one in the fall. And no more standing in your kitchen wondering why the microwave says one time and the oven says another.
Yes, please.

Every year around this time, we start having the same conversation: Are we really doing the whole clock-changing thing... again?
This year, the answer to that question is a little different. It's a definite maybe.
In case you missed it, the Sunshine Protection Act, the federal bill that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent, made some forward progress. The U.S. House passed it this summer, but it still needs to make it through the Senate and get the president’s signature before anything actually changes.

Sadly, Govtrack predicts there's only a 26% chance of the Sunshine Protection Act actually being enacted this year... So, you're saying there's a chance? ;)
For now, unless lawmakers manage to miraculously get this thing across the finish line, Minnesota is scheduled to “fall back” one hour at 2am on Sunday, November 1st.
Look, I’m definitely not going to complain about getting an extra hour of sleep. That part is absolutely glorious. I’ll happily take my bonus hour, pour myself a giant cup of coffee and enjoy the slower morning pace.
But those early sunsets? Not so much looking forward to that. Because suddenly it’s just after 4pm and pitch black outside, and I’m wondering if I should just call it a day.
So for now, circle November 1st on the calendar, because it's on. But could this actually be one of the last times we ever have to change our clocks?
I know I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
