Minnesota Nice? Check Out What Are the Most-Used Emojis in Minnesota
Maybe it's because we're just so darn nice here in Minnesota that explains what our most-used emojis are this year.
It's kind of interesting when you think about it: Way before languages were written down and developed, our ancient ancestors communicated with pictures and symbols carved into their stone caves.
And now, thanks to the digital revolution that keeps us connected to our phones and other devices pretty much 24/7, we seem to have come full circle-- by using short-cuts, symbols and pictures, kind of like our ancestors did.
Except our modern-day pictures and symbols aren't found in a cave, but are right there on your keyboard... in the form of emojis. How many times have you used a quick emoji to respond to a text message, instead of typing out an answer? If you're like me, it's a lot. So which emoji are we using the most here in Minnesota?
Again, if you're like me, it's either the 'thumbs up' emoji (👍) which I send my wife all the time, or the 'poop' emoji (💩) which I also send my wife, especially when we're trying to keep track of when our new puppy, Juniper, did her business.
Well, the crew over at Verizon did some serious studying of emojis and they've found out just which one we use the most here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. And, it's not either of the two I use the most, either.
The Verizon study, which used emojistats.org and a list of the most popular emojis from Brandwatch to determine the most popular emojis in the nation, found that the 'tears of joy' emoji (😂) was the most-used nationally and in all 50 states, including Minnesota.
So what OTHER emoji do we use the most in Minnesota? That'd be the 'heart' emoji (❤️) which I'm guessing can be attributed to our Minnesota niceness, right? Why else would we be hearting things all the time? You can check the full emoji survey HERE.
Knowing which emoji is tops in Minnesota sounds like it could be the answer to a trivia question, doesn't it? Speaking of that, how many of these Minnesota-based Jeopardy! questions do you know? Keep scrolling to find out!
