The state of Minnesota is trying to expedite the COVID-19 vaccination process by offering rewards to the next 100,000 Minnesotans who get their first shot between now and July 1st. Today, Gov. Walz announced the “Your Shot at Summer” program which is aimed at getting the number of those vaccinated up to 70%.

Walz said, “We’ve had great success in our state so far with more than 2.5 million Minnesotans fully vaccinated, and we want to build on that success… So roll up your sleeves, make that vaccine appointment, and pick your reward, Minnesota — this is your shot to summer.”

Participants will get to select from a list of rewards that include amusement park passes, Visa gift cards, Minnesota Zoo tickets, and State Fair tickets. See the full list of rewards below.

To be eligible to participate in the “Your Shot to Summer” program you must be a Minnesota resident, be at least 12 years old, and get your first dose of the vaccine between May 27 and June 30. You can get more info and starting June 1st you’ll be able to pick your reward at mn.gov/covid19/summer.

Nearly 80% of Olmsted County Residents (16 and up) have had at least their first shot at this point. KROC NEWS reported the latest numbers from the Minnesota Department of Health which show more than 95,000 have now received at least their first dose, which equates to over 79 percent of county residents.
