Minnesota Veteran Appears In Netflix Series ‘Medal of Honor’
Eighty-eight-year-old Lyle Conaway of Virginia, Minnesota is being featured during the trailer for a new Netflix eight-part anthology series named, 'Medal of Honor' and part of the series focus' on a courageous friend named, Cpl. Joseph Vittori.
The Korean War veteran from Virginia remembers Cpl. Vittori's last words to this day, "You go. I'll cover you." Conaway was 21 years old when he watched his comrade and fellow member of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division (Reinforced), Joe Vittori, conduct a "valiant stand" against the enemy in Korea.
Vittori's courage and sacrifice would earn the automatic-rifleman the highest and most prestigious personal military decoration in the United States the Congressional Medal of Honor.
The Netflix series seeks to according to the show page "Honor service members whose courage merited the awarding of a Medal of Honor, this docudrama series re-creates their inspiring true stories." The episode featuring Conaway is episode 6.
