Minnesota Weather Forecast: Early Spring or Longer Winter?
We're all itching to know.
After such a mild start to the winter, what's in store for us over the next few months?
Groundhog day is next week, but I'm too impatient and maybe a little skeptical of an animal determining our upcoming forecast. ;)
I mean, he's right about 40% of the time is all, according to Fox Weather.
Don't get me wrong, I'll watch and keep my fingers crossed hoping he doesn't see his shadow. Whatever keeps me moving through the looooong winter months.
So, what is in store for us here in Minnesota? An early spring or a longer winter?
The first day of spring is March 19th. However, it's rare that the season and the weather line up. Especially in Minnesota.
According to the Farmer's Almanac, we'll be slapped in the face the first week of March. A not-so-friendly reminder that winter is not over yet with potential blizzards that week. It also says that March will "go out like a lion, with stormy conditions nationwide." Ugh.
Ok, April, please bring momma some warm weather for her birthday...
The Farmers’ Almanac long range weather forecast calls for many days of cold temperatures, with some possible late snow through much of April. DANG IT!
Fine.... May has to have some promise right? Wrong!
May looks to still be on the cool side, with an active storm track possibly leading to widespread severe weather. Lovely.
Spring is going to be pretty poopy! In fact, the Farmer's Almanac called it a “Polar Coaster Spring.” With lots of cold days ahead. Brace yourself my friends. We can do this!
