Minnesota is a great state if you love to be outside in the summer and in the winter. There are plenty of things for you to do in every season in the land of 10,000 lakes. WCCO just did a story on Minnesota State Parks. There has been an increase in attendance over the past 16 years. The article said Minnesota State Parks have seen a 22% in that 16-year time span. That's almost increasing two times faster than the state population, according to the article. They have also seen an 80% increase in state park permits over the past six years. The shocking thing is the permit price did increase, so there were some worries about that affecting the number of permits sold, but obviously not.

The money from the increase goes to the Legacy Fund. According to the article, that fund helps improve all state parks in Minnesota. So essentially these improvements are bringing people back to take part in the great outdoors. Back in 2008, the fund was created and the money has helped make around a million dollars of improvements to our amazing state parks, the article said.
