Minnesota gymnast Suni Lee has had a huge year. She's the 2020 Olympic all-around champion, she's the first Hmong-American Olympian, she's on this upcoming season of 'Dancing with the Stars', she was at the Met Gala over the weekend, and now she has been named one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People.

Suni is obviously an incredibly talented gymnast but she also seems to be an overall good human being, so I'm very glad that she's being recognized this way. In order to be on the most influential people list someone has to nominate you. Fellow gymnast Nastia Liukin is the one who nominated Suni. Nastia wrote, "As the first Hmong American Olympian, Suni has an impact that extends far beyond any border or sport—it signifies representation."

A video when Suni's sister, Shyenne, gave the news is circling the internet and was Tweeted out by TIME Magazine. She's clearly super surprised!

A huge congratulations to fellow Minnesotan Suni Lee on receiving this honor! And I'm really excited to watch her compete on 'Dancing with the Stars', too.

Who Else is on TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People List?

Dolly Parton was also named one of TIME's Most Influential People. She was nominated by Miley Cyrus. Suni's fellow gymnast, Simone Biles, is also on the list, nominated by Serena Williams. Kamala Harris is also on the most influential list, nominated by Nancy Pelosi. Of course, that's just scratching the surface of everyone who was nominated! You can see the whole list HERE.
