Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A president has been chosen for the new corporation that is being formed to oversee the operations of the Mayo Civic Center and Convention and Visitors Bureau.

A news release issued by the City of Rochester indicates Joe Ward was chosen to lead the new organization following a nationwide search and is scheduled to begin his new job on August 5th.

"I couldn't be more excited about joining the team. Rochester has been and continues to be known as a dynamic City and on the leading edge of economic development and placemaking initiatives. I look forward to furthering those extraordinary efforts and working with the existing teammates, Board of Directors, key community partners, community members, and the entire tourism and hospitality community," shared Ward.

The news release describes Ward as a hospitality, travel, and tourism industry professional, who has been serving as Director of the Greater Saint Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau in Saint Charles, Missouri since 2014.

His new job in Rochester will be to direct and lead the new Rochester, Minnesota Convention and Visitors Bureau and Mayo Civic Center operations and work with the newly formed Board of Directors of the forming corporation.
