An old adage says that in life, the only constant is change, and that's true at MSP Airport, which is closing the doors on one of its bars and restaurants as it gets ready to redevelop its concession offerings.

We know that the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is the largest airport in both the North Star State and our neighboring states of Iowa and Wisconsin. It's also the 17th busiest airport in the country, with 15 airlines providing nonstop service to 167 domestic and international destinations. Overall, MSP served more than 36 million passengers in 2025.

And now, MSP is s getting ready to update its concession offerings of shops, bars, restaurants, and more for its largest update in over a decade, and it means one bar and restaurant will soon be going away for good.

Updating itself isn't new to MSP.  As I wrote in a story last year, MSP and Delta Air Lines unveiled the largest renovation of Terminal 1 in the airport's history back in December. That project took over two years to complete and is something you'll definitely notice if you're flying out of Minnesota this spring or summer season.

MSP Plans Largest Dining and Retail Refresh Since 2017

Now, though, MSP says it is looking to add or update 47 venues in the largest redevelopment of its concessions since 2017. This refresh, which MSP is calling a 'new era for concessions,' will affect 40 of MSP’s total concessions program, including shops for food, beverage, retail, news, and convenience, and spa venues.

Which MSP Airport Restaurant Is Closing Permanently?

But we already know that one bar/restaurant won't be included. According to the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal, City Point Bar, located in Concourse B is set to close permanently on June 1st. City Point Bar has been operating at MSP since 2018 and offers breakfast, soups, sandwiches, salads, and wraps, along with a full bar serving cocktails, beer, and wine.

MSP noted that the new concession redevelopment plan has a deadline of August 25, 2026, for interested parties to apply (get all the specifics HERE) while the entire project is expected to be completed in 2029.
