Must Try New Food Vendors At 2026 Steele County Free Fair
YUM ALERT!
I’m all for the rides, animals, and grandstand shows at the Steele County Free Fair but let’s admit what we’re all actually thinking about the second we walk through those gates: the food!
And this year, there are some new options joining the already impressive food truck lineup.

Ready to map out your fair food game plan? Here’s what’s new on the menu:
Auntie M's Gluten Free is apparently one of the most requested new stands (not surprised). It's also one of my absolute faves! They'll be bringing certified gluten-free fair food - corn dogs, cheese curds, funnel cake, and more - to visitors. You'll find it south of the Great Outdoors Center.
All About Bacon is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Serving up bacon on a stick, bacon-wrapped chicken on a stick (which is on the list of 2026 "Best of the Fair" NEW Foods) they also have bacon-wrapped jalapeños, bacon nachos and more bacon goodness - yes, please. It's in front of the Bingo Tent.

Chans Eatery is bringing Korean corn dogs, bubble tea and mochi donuts. Find it in front of the 4-H Exhibit Building. Their drool-worthy Hot Cheeto Korean Corn Dog is a finalist for the 2026 "Best of the Fair" NEW Foods.

Blue House Concessions will have pork chops on a stick in front of the Fine Arts Building - Another finalist for 2026 "Best of the Fair" NEW Foods. YUM!

And then there's Deep Fried Top the Tater, serving deep-fried Top the Tater which is nominated for 2026 "Best of the Fair" NEW Foods. They'll also have the popular deep-fried ranch in front of the FFA Barnyard.

Now the real question, which one are you trying first?!
The 2026 Steele County Free Fair kicks off Tuesday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 23rd in Owatonna. The fair is Minnesota's largest county fair and admission is completely free.
