New Owner for Rochester’s Carroll’s Corn as Founder Retires
I bought a bag of Carroll's Corn Triple Mix for Christmas (at HyVee) and loved every last morsel, so I was surprised when I heard Pat Carroll, former swim coach turned entrapaneur in 1993, has retired and sold his Downtown Rochester business.
His retirement was announced in a recent post on their Facebook page.
"Hi Carroll’s Corn family we’ve got some exciting news! After almost 28 years Pat Carroll is retiring! He founded Carroll’s Corn following in his dad’s entrepreneurial footsteps with the goal of bringing more local businesses to Rochester..."
According to Jeff Kiger, in the Rochester Post Bulletin, Pat Carroll sold Carroll's Corn to someone well connected to the business, Seamus Kolb. Kolb was 15-years-old when Carroll hired him into the popcorn business.
