Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A longtime Rochester area eating establishment is apparently headed towards extinction.

The Olmsted County Board voted 6-1 this afternoon to approve the purchase of the Fisherman's Inn property along Lake Zumbro for $750,000. The plan for the just over a 3-acre site calls for the creation of a County Park that would feature a boat landing.

The county’s pursuit of the Fisherman’s Inn property is tied to the planned sale of the historic Bierman House. Because it was purchased using funds from a federal grant program, the county is required to replace that property with land of equal value to be used as a public recreational site.
