One Injured In Fillmore County Crash
One Decorah woman was injured in a crash in Mabel after a crash at the intersection of Minnesota State Highway 44 and Minnesota State Highway 43.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports that a 54-year-old Doreen Dahl of Decorah, Iowa, was traveling southbound on Highway 43 when she stopped at the intersection of Highway 44. She did not notice that a Chevy Pickup pulling a trailer was approaching on the west.
Dahl attempted to cross Highway 44 into Mabel and struck the trailer that the Chevy was pulling. The Chevy was driven by 18-year-old Tristian Brainard of Caledonia. After the vehicle that Dahl was driving struck the trailer, the trailer rotated counter-clockwise knocking over a stop sign and overhead light pole.
Dahl was treated for non-life threating injuries, while the passenger in the Chrysler Town and Country van, 73-year-old Rhea Tollefsrud of Mabel, was not injured in the crash. Brainard was not injured in the crash, either.
The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office and the Mabel Fire and EMS assisted at the crash site.
