The early arrival of winter this year is highlighting how quickly the seasons can change here in Minnesota. And one TV photographer did an amazing job capturing those changes!

WCCO-TV in Minneapolis recently aired a video feature asking if you are on Team Summer or Team Winter here in Minnesota. We all know that we're lucky to live in a state where the climate features all four distinct seasons. (I mean, how boring would it be to live in someplace like San Diego, California, where the weather year-round is mainly sunny with highs in the mid 70's. Who'd want THAT every day?!?)

Here in Minnesota, the year starts cold and snowy in January. We take hope that spring will arrive-- by April, hopefully-- with its warmer weather and rebirth that bust us out of our winter slumber. Then, spring turns to summer and when the really hot, humid weather DOES arrive, many of us (and I'm the biggest offender) sometimes complain about how unbearable the hot, humid weather is.

Of course, fall finally shows up-- with its cool temperatures and stunning colors-- and gives us yet a third season to enjoy, all before Old Man Winter heads back to town (sometimes early, like this year) and buries us-- sometimes literally-- back in the cold and snow again.

Check out the amazing job WCCO photojournalist Tom Aviles did in compiling this incredible video that shows the extremes of Minnesota's many seasons-- from several of the exact same vantage points. There's the big slide at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds when it's nice and warm in the middle of August. And there it is again-- from the exact same vantage point-- all cold and covered in snow.

You can watch it in its long-form below. It's really a way-cool look at how vastly different our weather can be!
