Today, we're all sad to be a Toys "R" Us Kid...

There wasn't a Saturday morning where I wasn't humming along with that song during a commercial break of one my favorite cartoons... but now that jingle, along with it's iconic franchise will soon die and become a relic with the likes of the CD player.

It's been reported by the Wall Street Journal that Toys "R" Us are preparing to close down all of its U.S. stores. As of right now, Toys "R" Us still has around 700 stores nationwide, including five in Minnesota, and the one here in Rochester.

Last month, the chain planned to close another 200 stores across the U.S. just to keep it's head above water due the growing debt after filing for Chapter 11 back in September.

It's the end of an era in the toy industry, that's for sure! May Geoffrey the Giraffe R.I.P.
