Yes, while there wasn't much to smile about for Minnesota in last night's Vikings 20-3 loss to the 49er's (even coach Mike Zimmer said something to the effect that the team appeared to not be ready for prime time), at least the Twins were winning on Monday.

In fact, when the Twins beat Detroit 7-1 Monday night at Target Field, to remain in the thick of the chase for the second American League wild card, they did something that hadn't been done in Minnesota in 22 years: They outscored the Vikings on the same day.

Yes, the last time Minnesota's professional baseball team scored more points in a game played on the same day as its professional football team was back on Sept. 5, 1993, when the Twins beat the Rangers 8-3 at the Metrodome, while the Vikings lost to the Raiders 24-7 at the Coliseum out in Los Angeles.
