Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -Several area motorists were ticketed for speeding during a special enforcement operation in the Rochester area.

Olmsted County deputies took part in Friday’s “Highway 14 border-to-border enforcement saturation” and made 26 traffic stops. Eight of the drivers who were pulled over were given speeding tickets.

The highest speeds involved in the traffic stops were  79 mph in a 65 mph zone and 78 mph in a 60 mph zone.

One driver was also cited for driving after revocation.

Friday’s operation was part of a statewide speed enforcement campaign that began June 22nd and runs through July 19th.
