Your Rare Chance For an Inside Look at Rochester’s Fire Stations
If you have a kiddo who can spot a firetruck a mile away and immediately gets excited, you’re not going to want to miss this!
The Rochester Fire Department is opening the doors to all five of its fire stations for a special Fire Prevention Week open house. It’s a great chance for families to tour the facilities, get an up-close look at the big rigs, check out some cool demonstrations, and say hi to the brave crew keeping our city safe.

The open house is happening Tuesday, October 6th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and you can head to whichever station is closest to you:
- Fire Station 1 at 521 S. Broadway Avenue
- Station 2 at 2185 Wheelock Dr NE
- Station 3 at 2755 2nd Street SW
- Station 4 at 1875 41st Street NW
- Station 5 at 305 28th Street SE
And while getting an up-close look at the big red firetrucks will definitely be the highlight for the kids, RFD is also using the open house to share some super helpful, practical safety tips for the whole family

The Rochester Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association for this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, which is all about safe charging and reducing the risk of lithium-ion battery fires. Basically, some good fire-safety reminders for the whole family while the kids get to check out the really cool stuff.
So, whether you've got a little firefighter-in-training at home, want to pick up some solid safety tips, or just want an inside look at your local station, it’s a great, free evening for all.
