Rochester Man Arrested as Suspect in Recent Violent Home Invasion
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police have arrested one man as a suspect in a recent violent home invasion that left the victim with a concussion and was witnessed by his child.
It happened at the victim’s apartment in the 1300 block of 4th Ave SW the evening of May 28th.
The 28-year-old man was making dinner for his 2-year-old daughter when he answered a knock at the door. When he opened the door, two men forced their way inside and one grabbed the victim by the throat and pushed him into a bathroom. The man began punching the victim in the face and stomach.
The victim identified the attacker as the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend. The victim says the man “was angry” about the relationship. At last report, that man was still being sought.
But police arrested the other suspect last week and he remains in jail. He has been identified as 23-year-old Kurt Halvorson. He was arraigned last Wednesday on aiding and abetting burglary and assault charges. Halvorson denied being involved in the attack.
