Rochester Man Charged With Child Solicitation Facing Earlier Case
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arraigned Thursday, one day after he was accused of making lewd comments to a young girl at Silver Lake Park.
The incident happened two months after he was charged with indecent exposure for another incident involving kids.
Police say an 11-year-old girl was walking through the park near the 7th St bridge around 4:00 pm Wednesday when a man sitting on a bench called her over. He grabbed her hand and she sat down.
The girl later told police the man made a crude, sexual comment and began rubbing one of her legs.
A couple riding by on bikes saw what was happening and confronted the man. They called 911 and began chasing the man when he took off on foot. Police say during the chase, the man flashed a knife.
Police located the man nearby and arrested him. He was identified as 31-year-old Danio Dorres. The complaint says an officer found Dorres “sitting on the pavement breathing heavily.”
He was arraigned Thursday on a felony charge of soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct and bail was set at $150,000. His address indicates he lives at The Landing shelter near where the incident occurred.
According to the criminal complaint in the case, ”When Victim's parents arrived she stated "he touched me" and began to cry. “
The complaint also notes Dorres “currently has an open charge for Indecent Exposure from a July incident in which he was masturbating in front of a group of school children.”
