Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was ordered to stay away from a woman is now accused of choking her, punching her and kicking her in the mouth.

Felony assault and other charges have been filed against 21-year-old Kareem Hollins.

According to the criminal complaint, the violent incident happened at the victim’s home Sept 11th. The woman told police Hollins became upset and “grabbed her by the throat and began choking her until she passed out.” The woman said Hollins also punched her “all over her body and on her face” before he left.

The woman said Hollins later returned and entered her residence through her bedroom window. She said Hollins grabbed her by the hair and when she fell to the floor, he “kicked her in the mouth, chipping several of her teeth and also kicked her hard in the stomach.”

The officer interviewed the victim at the Olmsted Medical Center emergency room Sept. 12 and noted the woman ”cried multiple times and began shaking at times. Victim reported a long history of abuse at the hands of Defendant.”

The woman told the officer Hollins “had apologized for previous assaults and she allowed him to have contact with her again.”

A judge in April ordered Hollins not to have contact with the woman after he was charged with stalking and domestic assault.

The woman says she returned home Sept. 21st to find Hollins “sitting on her bed.” She called police but Hollins was gone when officers arrived. He was located the next day and arrested.
