Rochester Police ID Friday Traffic Victim
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Police Department has released the name of the man who was killed in a traffic wreck near Lincoln School Friday morning.
Police say 86-year-old Melbourne “Mel” Kirkeeng was turning from 12th St to 8th Ave SE when his vehicle was struck by an oncoming car. Kirkeeng died at the scene.
The other driver - 24-year-old Huda Ali Mohamed - was taken to St. Marys where she was apparently treated and released.
A police spokesman says she had the right of way.
