Rochester Public Library Closed Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Public Library will be closed again Monday for the installation of a new skylight.
The installation is part of the final stage of a roof replacement project that started at the library in August. The building was closed two weeks ago for removal of the old sky light.
“As expected, we are having to close for the install of the new skylight for the same concerns we had during the removal of the old one,” says Library Director Karen Lemke, adding, “While we never like to close, we still need to ensure customers can safely enter and leave the building at all times.”
A news release says library staff will be doing “back of house work,” which entails shelving, collection maintenance, reporting, and other labor-intensive projects during the closure. The outdoor book drop will remain open and holds on library materials will be available one additional day. The library is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
