This Friday and Saturday (Oct. 19/20) Quarry Hill is hosting an after-dark hike that will teach you about the nocturnal animals of Quarry Hill. No need to worry about being scared; organizers say it's a humorous hike. Kids 4 and up are welcome to attend.

Quarry Hill's website explains that you will meet costumed characters like a worm, opossum, flying squirrel, and cricket along the way. The hike will be guided through the woods and a cave and take about one hour.  Refreshments will be available in the the Nature Center. Tickets are $10 a person and must be purchased in advance. Reserve your spot by calling 507-328-3950.

A few other notes from the event's site:

  • Hikes are held rain, shine, or snow.
  • Friday and Saturday guided hikes begin at 4:30 p.m. and leave at 15 minute intervals. The last hike leaves at 8:00 p.m.
