The latest report from the CDC shows about 1 out of every 59 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder. I'm certainly no expert, but I am lucky enough to know a few of these kids and they are truly awesome. Their parents are also pretty special. Santa knows that too, and I've very happy to see the Apache Mall has created a sensory-friendly event for these families this holiday season.

The Apache Mall says, "This sensory-friendly holiday event allows families with all spectrums of special needs to experience the time-honored tradition of a visit with Santa, in a comforting environment prior to public hours. Accommodations are made to support the sensory, physical, and developmental needs of this special audience."

This event will be Sunday (Nov. 24th) from 8:30am-1030am. Visits with Santa are free and photo packages will be available for purchase. You are asked to reserve a spot because space is limited. To pick your time click here.
