Brooklyn Park, MN (KROC AM News) - There was a wild scene Thursday morning in a Twin Cities suburb that involved gunfire and a police chase.

Officers in Brooklyn Park were called to a townhome complex around 8:30 after receiving a report of shots fired. Officers soon learned five of the homes had been hit.

They also found a man inside one of the units had been hit and “was excessively bleeding.” Officers performed first aid and the man was taken to the hospital. Police say the victim is expected to survive.
Officers soon determined the shots had been fired from inside one of the townhomes. As the officers began surrounding the unit, the suspected gunman suddenly drove his vehicle through the garage door and sped off.

Officers went after him and during the chase, the man rammed two squad cars before he came to a stop. But the incident still wasn’t over. The man locked the doors of his car and refused to surrender. Negotiators were called to the scene and the man eventually surrendered. The 43-year-old man was taken into custody and is expected to face multiple charges.
