Signs You See That Just Don’t Make Sense
Since our smart phones these days are all outfitted with some pretty decent cameras, and seeing as we all usually have our phones with us at all times, I like to snap a quick picture of some of the more nonsensical things I come across.
Like this container of, uh, watermelons I ran across at a local store on Friday. I'm certainly no agricultural expert, but it appears to me that this year's crop of watermelons is looking a little...uh... mulchy. I don't know how good those melons would be during your big 4th of July picnic this year.
All kidding aside, I'm guessing the watermelon containers make a handy box for storing and selling mulch, and I just happened to be there before sign advertising the price of the mulch was posted. But it still made me giggle.
It was similar to this sign I noticed at a local store last November. Again, I'm no expert when it comes to produce, but these green beans sure have a cranberry-esque appearance to them.
Now, this time, I can't blame the store too much, see as there was, in fact, a display filled with lovely green beans directly below this sign. However, from the vantage point I used to snap the picture, it sure looked like the sign was completely wrong for the produce that was actually sitting there. (Unless there is some strange cranberry/green bean cross-breed out there that I'm not aware of...)
Perhaps I have a little too much spare time. Have you ever noticed any odd signs?
