Mantorville, MN (KROC AM News) -The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in trying to locate a man wanted as a suspect in a violent assault.

It happened last Wednesday afternoon.

A witness called 911 to report seeing someone throw a man over a bridge and then run away. The site is known as Milliken Creek Bridge and is located on County Road 22 East of Highway 57. Deputies found the victim hiding in some nearby woods.

The victim was identified as a 62-year-old Rochester man who was bleeding heavily from a large laceration across the front of his neck. The victim said he was assaulted by a man who also cut his throat before throwing him off the bridge. Sheriff Scott Rose said the victim was unable to give any additional information at that time due to the severity of his injuries. He was transported by Mayo One to St Mary’s Hospital for emergency treatment

Rose says investigators eventually identified the suspect as 27-year-old Rigo Eleazar Lopez Macias (aka Alejandro Torres Lopez, nickname "Alex"). Rose says he had been working at Rochester Cheese under the Alejandro alias.
