The Top Four New Things You Have To Check Out at the Minnesota State Fair

I headed up to the Great Minnesota Get-Together earlier this week and tried a few of the new attractions this year. Here are the ones you need to try...

We had tickets to see John Mellencamp, who was in the grandstand Tuesday night at the Fair. (He did an incredible job, by the way. He's 65 but still sounds like he did 30 years ago. And, most of his songs would fit right in here on Quick Country 96.5!) So, we went a little early to check out some of the new food available this year.

The fair said there were 31 new food items up for grabs this year, including several new beers plus some awesome-sounding food. We HAD to try the Deep Fried Avocado, available at O'Gara's. While my wife wasn't a big fan, I thought it was pretty good.

We both really like the Egg Roll On-A-Stick, available at Que Viet, not too far down from O'Gara's. Their Wontons, with cream cheese and garlic, were pretty good, too. The cheese curds, mini donuts and potato skins didn't disappoint, either. And, I had to have one of my favorites, the Mini Donut Beer. (We also tried the new Dill Pickle Beer-- liked it!)
