Rochester, MN, (KROC-AM News) - A third candidate has announced plans to campaign to become the next mayor of Rochester. Brent Coggins is a Rochester native and well-known local magician. The retired engineering technician announced his campaign on Sunday with the Willow Creek flood control reservoir as a backdrop.

Coggins joins Regina Mustafa and Jordan Glynn as early entries into what could become a crowded field of candidates wanting to succeed longtime Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede. He recently announced he would not be running for reelection this year and his 4th term as mayor would be his last.

Citizens interested in running for the various elected positions on the fall ballot will be able to officially file as candidates beginning on May 22nd.
