Summertime means there are plenty of summer activities to do. Many of these activities are outside and are great family events. One that I came across the other day was Strawberry picking. Rochester Mom's Blog had some great insight on the best places to go and pick strawberries as a family.

The first place is called Firefly Berries, which opens in late June. With this winter being the way it was, the berries are not quite ready to pick according to a post on their Facebook page. Rochester's Mom's Blog said it only cost $2.50 a pound of berries as long as you pick them. They also recommend bringing your own basket. Though out the summer they are even offering other classes. The one coming up in July is natural dying processes.

Ron's Berry Farm was next on the list. Hopefully, you are ready for a road trip because they are located in Eyota. According to their Facebook page, they are experts in none GMO asparagus and strawberries! Both healthy options just in time for grilling season.  They are open this weekend from 8am to 7pm and they have boxes to use if you don't want to bring your own basket.

Located in Dodge Center, Minnesota, Miracle Strawberry Farms has a lot of strawberries to be picked. Like other farms, they are also delaying their opening date because the strawberries aren't ready yet. This farm charges $2.25 per pound you pick, according to Rochesters Mom's Blog. The unique thing about this farm is the ower donates 15% of sales to a mission in Congo. So pick berries to help people in need!

I never heard of you being able to pick your own strawberries, so I guess I will have to go check these places out. What a great summer activities for families to do.
