The oldest grocery store is right here in Southeast Minnesota, right near Lewiston, and The Fremont Store has been open since 1856!

Nowadays, a lot of people will get their groceries at the big-box stores, but there is something to be said about a quick stop at the local grocery store that many people haven't experienced.

Here are three ways you can enjoy the oldest grocery store in Minnesota:

1 - You can pick up about everything you need there.

Whatever groceries you need, the store can provide! Also, you have the time to enjoy it and experience what the going to the store was like nearly 160 years ago. It is pretty incredible.

2 - Have you seen it?? The wooden frame gives it is a classic charm

You can check out photos of the little grocery store from Only In Your State, and it even looks like it could even be the backdrop of some amazing graduation, wedding or family photos! (Just be sure to ask for permission first!)

3 - The Sense Of Community Is Incredible

19 people have reviewed the store on Facebook, and all gave it five stars. If that is not an incredible record, then I don't know what is! Each person is treated with amazing care and thoughtfulness that makes you feel right at home.
