Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Two men are facing charges connected to a recent stabbing in Rochester that began as a planned sale of marijuana.

Police had no trouble finding the suspects. They were found hiding in an apartment when officers forced their way inside.

The incident happened on April 5th when officers were sent to check on a disorderly conduct complaint.

According to the criminal complaint, the officers “heard a man inside yelling for help” when they arrived. They forced open the door and “found a man leaning against a wall with blood on his shirt and face.”

Officers found 39-year-old Bashir Farah hiding in a closet. The other suspect was found in another room in the apartment. He was identified as 30-year-old Saynab Ahmed. The two are facing aggravated robbery charges. Farah is also charged with felony assault for stabbing the victim in the face and shoulder.

The criminal complaint indicates the victim was set up.

The victim told officers “Farah had invited him to the apartment to sell cannabis.” After no one showed up, the victim started to leave when Farah pulled out a knife, and Ahmed blocked the exit. Farah ordered the victim to give him the pot and his phone and then stabbed him. The officers arrived moments later.
