Claremont, MN (KROC AM News) -  Two people were killed in a traffic wreck near Claremont Wednesday.

The wreck happened on Highway 14 around 6:00 PM and closed a section of the roadway.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the two people who were killed were in a car that crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a semi-truck. The car was driven by a 57-year-old New Richland man. His passenger was a 52-year-old woman from New Richland. Their names have not yet been released.

The truck was driven by 75-year-old Merritt Davis of Cleveland, MN. He was taken to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The truck burst into flames after the wreck.
