Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two more reported suspicious incidents involving young girls in Byron.

The sheriff’s office sent out an advisory Thursday about a suspicious incident near the Byron middle school that was reported Wednesday.

A 12-year-old girl said she was walking home on a trail in a wooded area near the school around 3:00 pm when a strange man asked if he could walk with her. She told the man her mother was waiting for her and walked away from the man.

Capt. Scott Behrns says it has since been reported a man with the same description approached an 11-year-old girl at Brook Lawn Park around 7:30 Wednesday evening. Behrns says the man asked how she was doing and the girl went home.

His office is also investigating an incident reported around 6:30 pm Thursday.

Two 13-year-old girls - one from Byron, the other from Rochester - said they were walking in the 300 block of 9th Ave NW when a man in a car stopped and asked if they wanted a ride. They said no and the man drove by slowly two more times before he left.

The girls described the man as mixed race with light-colored skin, slim, in his 20s with dreadlocks or braids. His car was only described as a dark sedan.

Behrns is asking residents in the area who have porch cameras or other surveillance units to check to see if they recorded anything suspicious involving any of the incidents.
