I joke about being a "goth" all of the time because I figure it's better to poke fun at myself than put up with someone else saying it, right?

In case you missed it, I, Val (before going blonde), was pretty well known for my dark hair, pale skin, and affinity for black and red. The hair and skin were natural. So is my love of black and black clothing. I can't help it!

Spring has always been a "battle" for me because fashion rules (secretly) dictate that we're supposed to be excited about florals and pastels this time of year. I just don't prefer them and it's as simple as that. However, I don't want people afraid to approach me either. How did I resolve this? By wearing yellow.

I'm not a huge lover or pink and purple, and if you aren't either - that's okay! Harper's Bazaar says, "Shown on the catwalks of Celine, Victoria Beckham, Preen and Hermes, ice-cream pastel hues were big news on the spring/summer 2018 catwalks." So yellow is actually in!

To me, yellow is a fair compromise when you don't love pink or florals but want to stay on trend for spring and summer. Try it out! I did. I guess I did on my hair too. Oops.
