Here is another reason why you should be moving over for work crews and other stopped vehicles emergency or non-emergency on the side of the road.

As you can see in the video above, that an Iowa Department of Transportation worker had a really close call on Tuesday as a driver of a vehicle drifted over and collided with the Iowa DOT workers truck at a high rate of speed.

KCCI-TV in Des Moines reported that the incident happened Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Des Moines in the westbound lanes of I-235 at the Cottage Grove exit. The accident resulted in a Des Moines police officer being injured after the driver failed to move over and crashed into an Iowa Department of Transportation Highway Helper vehicle and a patrol car. The officer suffered a minor arm injury.

As for the driver of the vehicle,18-year-old Saadig Noor was charged with a move over violation and failure to maintain control. KCCI-TV reported that the police investigation has ruled out Noor using his phone at the time of the crash.

Remember it's the law in Minnesota to move over for stopped emergency and non-emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
