Watch What Happened When Curt Headed to Europe
I promise I won't bore you with too many slides of our recent trip overseas, but here are just a couple of pics of how we spent nearly two weeks in Europe!
I don't know about you, but we never really traveled much when I was a kid growing up in Wisconsin. Sure, we'd head to a cabin up north on Trout Lake or maybe head down to Great America, outside Chicago or over to Valley Fair in Shakopee a time or two, but that was about it.
Even when I was in college, when Spring Break rolled around, instead of traveling to Daytona or South Padre, I usually picked up as many extra shifts as I could at the radio stations where I was working parttime.
I certainly had never been to Europe. Well, that all changed this year. We just got back from spending 13 days in Spain and Italy. And, it was INCREDIBLE! We flew from Minneapolis to Paris, caught another flight to Barcelona where we spent 4 days. We saw the sights, did a tapas tour, and ate and drank our way through a very lovely city-- the capital of Catalonia.
Then, we flew from Barcelona to Rome, where we spent 3 days touring all the fountains, the Vatican (including the Sistine Chapel) and the ancient Rome ruins like the Colosseum, the Forum and more.
Finally, we took the high-speed train (which was really cool) from Rome to Naples, and then caught a ride an hour south to Sorrento, the island of Capri and the Amfalfi Coast where we spent another 4 days soaking up the sun and all the local Italian culture.
It was a blast! It took us several years to save up the money to go, but if you can do it, I highly recommend it. The blend of Old World Europe and today's modern society is pretty cool to see in person. Check out some pictures of our trip:
