Which Brand of Car is the Most Popular in Minnesota?
The numbers are in, and we now know just which brand of vehicle Minnesotans like the most in 2023.
Sales of new vehicles were booming in 2023, here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and across the country. In fact, consumers shelled out a record-high $578 billion on new vehicles last year, according to the auto industry site, AutomotiveDive.
J.D. Power said it expects new vehicle sales to reach 15.5 million units in 2023, which would represent a 12.8 increase from 2022, AutomotiveDive noted. When adjusted for the number of selling days, new vehicle sales will increase even more, to an estimated 13.2 percent in 2023, AutomotiveDive said.
So, that's a lot of new vehicles appearing in driveways and garages here in the Bold North and across the country. But just WHICH brand of vehicles is the most popular? Well, the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association (MADA) shared that information with Axios Twin Cities recently.

And, the number-one, best-selling vehicle brand in Minnesota is 2023 was... Chevrolet! Chevy products accounted for 15.3 percent of all new vehicle registrations in the North Star State in 2023, Axios Twin Cities said.
In second place, is Ford, which commanded 12.2 percent of all new vehicle registrations in Minnesota last year, MADA said in the Axios Twin Cities story.
Third place went to Toyota, whose automobiles grabbed 10.2 percent of all new vehicle registrations in the Bold North in 2023, according to MADA via Axios Twin Cities.
Fourth place was taken by Honda, with an 8.6 percent share of all new vehicle registrations in 2023 in Minnesota, Axios Twin Cities said, quoting MADA.
And rounding out the top five most popular automobile brands in Minnesota in 2023 was Suburu, with 6.7 percent of all 2023 new vehicle registrations, according to MADA in the Axios Twin Cities story.
