UPDATE: St Marys Hospital Stabbing Victim Was Suspect’ s Wife
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – It was a chaotic and frightening scene at Rochester St. Marys Hospital Wednesday morning when a man stabbed a woman in an employee cafeteria.
Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis says the incident was reported around 7:00 AM.
Sadauskis says a 57-year-old man stabbed the victim four times in an attack that was witnessed by several employees. Mayo Clinic security personnel were able to subdue the man until officers arrived.
The woman’s injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.
Mayo Clinic says the woman who was stabbed is a food service employee. The man who stabbed her is also a food service employee and it’s believed the two have a relationship.
The man who was arrested was identified as Augustino Nasona.

The victim has been identified as a 47-year-old woman who is a Rochester resident. The victim is the suspect’s wife, but they have been estranged from each other for approximately one year.
The 57-year-old subject who was in custody this morning, Augustino Nasona, has now been formally arrested and is being held in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. Charges of attempted First Degree Murder, along with other possible charges, are being recommended to the Olmsted County Attorney’s office. We have received no updates as to the victim’s medical condition.
