Researchers took saliva samples from dogs and tested it in a lab to see just what kinds of germs might be lurking in your dog’s mouth.

They found “quite a bit of bacteria” was growing in the dog’s mouths.

While testing did not reveal the presence of any e-coli or bacteria that could cause a staph infection, the researchers found lots of other germs linked to things like STDs, pneumonia, and plaque.
