This Sunday is Flag Day and the 240th birthday of the U.S. Army. Sunday, June 14 the VFW in Rochester will be celebrating the Army’s 240th birthday from 8:00 AM to closing.

They will be hosting a breakfast from 8:00 to noon of the Army’s favorite dish, SOS (chipped beef on toast), along with made to order omelets, eggs, sausage links, juice coffee etc for a cost of $10.00

From 1:00 to 6:00, or until gone, they will have various snacks of hot dogs, brats, beans, sweets and chips. There will also be a short program by the Elks Lodge remembering Flag Day at the Veterans Memorial at 1:00.

Starting at 3:00 there will be attendance prizes given each hour with a grand prize of a diamond necklace from Hight & Randall Personal Jewelers given at 7:00 PM.

The raffle drawing for the top prize of $1,000.00 will be drawn at 5:00 PM.

There will be a short ceremony of posting the colors, remembering our fallen and a cake cutting ceremony at 6:00 PM.
