I know, you think you're finally ABOVE average, don't ya? The average smartphone owner picks up his device 1,500 times a week, and spends over three hours a day staring at its screen.

The numbers come from a survey of 2,000 smartphone owners which also says that the average person first reaches for the phone starting at 7:30 in the morning.

Many users also admitted to finding themselves using their phones “without even realizing it,” with two-thirds even browsing Facebook without thinking about it and four in 10 thoughtlessly checking their emails.

The average user also does 140 tasks on the phone in a typical day, cutting into time that used to be spent at desktops or laptops.
