“The Original Deep Fried Cheese Curds” stand has been at the Great Minnesota Get Together since 1975. Nearly 3 million cheese curds are consumed each year at the fair - 20% of those, come from “The Original Deep Fried Cheese Curds” stand.

According to WCCO, the Mueller family (owners of the cheese curd stand) filed the paperwork for the owner's son to take over the business. Fair Officials are saying the wrong paperwork was filed, and filed late. At this point it seems to be a lot of back and forth "he said, she said" information, but soon we will learn the truth. The Mueller family is not going down without a fight, and are threatening a lawsuit.

There's a Facebook page for fans trying to save "The Original Deep Fried Cheese Curds" using #savethecurds.
