The holidays are here. You'll be heading home to loved ones. If you're single, do you get the relatives asking, "Where's your date?" One time, there was a guy at a wedding and his grandma was sitting next to him. She elbowed him in the ribs and said, "You're next!" and chuckled. She stopped doing that after he did the same thing to her...at a funeral!

A survey by Indiana University reveals that 10% of women and 14% of men date someone during the holidays just to avoid being alone. The practice is called 'holidating'. Other findings:

- 82% of people say the holidays make them feel more romantic

- 25% of people have experienced a break-up during the holiday season

- mid-December through mid-February is considered a peak period for online dating

- 25% of people have gone on an online date

- 7% of people have met someone at a bar
