When I went to school at Kasson-Mantorville, we used to bring squirt guns and squirt each other. It was harmless fun. We actually had something called "common sense" back then. We knew that a squirt gun wouldn't be enough for a crazy person to take down a school. You would have got laughed at and probably beaten up. That's why I really hate to see stories like this because the school lacks common sense...-Alan

A fourth grade student in Florida was suspended for three days because he brought his plastic Nerf gun to school.

The class was doing an activity where they wanted kids to bring in their favorite toys as a way to get to know other students.

The boy told his father he was going to bring in his iPad and a few toys. Earlier this week, the father got a call from the school that said his son brought a weapon to school.

The boy said if he knew the school would consider his toy a weapon, he wouldn’t have brought it to class.

He ended up serving three days of in-school suspension.
