The Field of Flags will be up and running again this year. On Wednesday, July 16th, S.O.S. (Support our Soldier), the Byron American Legion and Auxiliary will host the 2nd annual Field of Flags at 1128 4th St NW, Byron. If necessary, rain date will be Thursday the 17th.

The Field of Flags is a spectacular visual display of American flags. The field is set up so that visitors can walk among the flags, reading dedications and reflecting upon personal heroes. You may donate a flag in someone's memory or in honor of that person. (It doesn't have to be military to donate a flag). This is an opportunity for us to come together, to remember, to honor, and to support our veterans and non-veterans.

A short program will start at 7PM with music and speakers. On Wednesday night, we announce all the names that were on the cards and who they were dedicated by. You as the donor of that flag can choose to walk that flag (with an Honor Guard) to the post of that flag, or the Honor Guard will be more than happy to do it for you.The field is guarded 24 hours a day while on display by the American Legion and Auxiliary. We thank you for your patronage to our club.

Please bring your lawn chairs or blankets and plan on spending a very memorable time with us.

Order flags by calling Kim McPhee at 775-6272. They can also be purchased at the Byron American Legion during business hours. After the event we will send you a photo of the Field of Flags and your hero's dedication card. The cost to dedicate a flag is $10, with a ll proceeds to benefit S.O.S. and the Auxiliary Scholarship program.
