Sara suffered a major medical event in November 2013, after having their second child six months earlier. Having previously been in great health her family suddenly found that her heart was failing due to a condition known as Peripartum Cardiomyopathy or PPCM.
This is a rare condition caused by the body’s reaction to pregnancy in which the immune system and its antibodies end up damaging the heart. Thankfully in December Sara received a new heart. With it came a tremendous amount of medical expenses and changes for their family.
This is a benefit for the family to help raise money for the family to offset their medical expenses. After the benefit 100% of the profits are going directly into a benefit account set up for them at their bank.
The benefit itself is being held at the Wicked Moose in Rochester, MN on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 from 2pm to 9pm.
