Interstate 90 west of Albert Lea reopens to traffic, caution advised

ROCHESTER, Minn. (9 a.m.) – Interstate 90 west of Interstate 35 at Albert Lea has reopened, but the Minnesota Department of Transportation cautions drivers that challenging winter driving conditions continue to exist.

MnDOT and the Minnesota State Patrol reopened the highway at 9 a.m. I-90 to the west opened as well.

Windy conditions remain and much of southeast Minnesota’s highways remain completely covered with compacted snow and ice. MnDOT’s 102 snowplows in southeast Minnesota remain on the highway as they continue to clear the roads. Snowplows are expected to be working through the night.
